Trend Analysis Summary
WATCH Iron chronically 2-3x above universal average. Improved 286 to 136 ppm (Dec 2021 to Jun 2023), spiked to 220 at tach ~3281, eased to 180 at tach 3333, now 202 at tach 3386. Persistently elevated - a long-running pattern rather than a one-off.
WATCH Nickel persistently elevated (2-3x avg ~17 ppm) - Blackstone flagged exhaust valve guide wear in multiple reports. Improved 42 to 22 ppm in 2022-2023, jumped to 44 at tach ~3281, dropped to 25 at tach 3333, now back up to 43 at tach 3386 - Blackstone explicitly compared this sample to the Apr 2025 spike.
FLAG Jun 2026 (tach 3386): Nickel back up near the Apr 2025 level, with Fe and Cr also elevated - similar pattern to the Apr 2025 valve/guide flag. Lab noted 12 qts of make-up oil added this interval, which may be diluting the true wear-metal concentration (i.e. actual wear could be even higher than shown). Worth confirming make-up oil volume is not masking a worsening trend, and revisiting the exhaust valve lapping recommended in the Dec 2025 borescope.
GOOD Aluminum stable near universal average (6-10 ppm range through 2025-2026). No piston wear concern.
VARIABLE Silicon spiked May 2022 (tach 3013, 21 ppm) and Oct 2023 (tach 3178, 23 ppm), otherwise low. Jun 2026 at 8 ppm - clean.
NOTE Phosphorus and Zinc (anti-wear additives) dropped sharply post-2022, remain low through Jun 2026. Worth flagging with shop on next service.
NOTE Make-up oil volume - 12 qts added this interval per Jun 2026 report, flagged by the lab as unusually high and possibly diluting wear-metal readings. Worth tracking consumption going forward to establish whether this is a stable pattern for this engine.
